A Bass Fishing Tip is Only as Good as the Bass You’re Catching

Posted on 15 January 2010 by admin

No matter how experienced you are as fishermen, you should always be willing (and trying!) to get your hands on some good tips on how to catch your favorite fish. The true test of the fishing tip lies in a) the source, b) it’s proven success and c) it helping you in catching more fish! What works for you might not be what works for someone else. Worse yet – what doesn’t work for you (but you think it does) gives all the fish to someone else.

Good Bass Fishing Tips

There are lots fishing tips that are floating around with special emphasis on catching bass. One of the most important tips however (not only for bass fishing but for any other species) is that the fisherman has to be extremely familiar with the fish he/she wants to catch. If you are fishing for bass, you should know where they live, what they eat, where they like to frequent and why, how to locate them in the morning and at night, and the best way to attract them. This may be precisely what you are looking for. This is where the research comes in on finding those bass fishing tips.

Bass Fishing Tip #1

You cannot fish for bass, or any other fish, unless you are comfortable with the location / destination the fishing for that species takes place. For example, there is specific type of bass called the Peacock Bass that lives in the Amazon River. If you want to catch it, pack your bags and head to the Amazons because you won’t find it anywhere else. So, know where your fish live before you attempt to start catching them somewhere they don’t swim. Believe it or not, simple mistakes like not knowing where the bass you’re fishing for is not uncommon. Don’t be the dummy!

Bass fishing Tip #3

Summer is the season for fishing, especially for bass fishing. It’s just too bad that summer boating, hot tempratures, etc. make bass fishing more difficult. But if you’re a goal setter and a die-hard fisherman set on catching some great bass, you will have to plan a trip to your summer destination… like Florida – or at least some place where the bass live and you can take your pick. They will be following the crayfish which is their favorite food. If you have a well known spot or place you always enjoy fishing then take advantage! Steer clear of popular boating areas that scare the fish away. If you do not, I would recommend looking at one of the fishing guides we’ve reviewed – lots of great information to get you on your way.

Bass Fishing Tip #4

Unless you have a fair idea of what you are doing, no matter how many fish are in the sea, you won’t be able to catch one of them. They guy next to you who’s been fishing since he was 5 with his father and grandfather will be catching everything you’re not. You should know how to use each and every piece in your angling box; carrying with you adequate lures and live bait which are ONLY for bass. The method of fishing, your style of fishing and the fishing implements you carry will have to complement one another perfectly if you want to have an easy and enjoyable time bass fishing.

There is a lot to learn, so be patient, it will come. I congratulate you on taking the first steps to learning great new tips on making your perfect catch. For more tips, have a look at the bass fishing guides we’ve reviewed – these are a great start to getting you on your way to catching all the bass you can dream of. Good luck and happy fishing!

The Bass Fishing Tracker Boat – Still a Leader in its Field

Posted on 27 July 2009 by admin

Bass fishing is okay from the shore, but if you want to feel and enjoy the challenge of catching real large bass, then you have to move to open waters. The shore limits this fun to a great extent. However unless you have the right type of boat, fishing for bass can be a daunting task even for the experienced angler.

The Bass Fishing Tracker Boat

The tracker is still the best boat available for fishing. Not only is it made of the best aluminum making it almost maintenance free, it also comes with all the features that one needs to be successful in fishing for bass – and for any other species of fish that is. The tracker is large enough to carry all that you need and more for your fishing trip and you can still have adequate space for taking a couple of friends along as well.

You want Value for Money; You will Own a Bass Fishing Tracker Boat

If anyone happens to talk about aluminum boats, the first name that comes to your mind should be the tracker boat. This majestic boat has yet to find its match in spite of the so- called advancement in technology and the hundreds of breakthroughs in boat making materials. The boats are extremely efficient and also exquisitely beautiful. Many times people confuse the tracker with glass boats because of their exceptional design.

The Best Model on the Market is the Bass Fishing Tracker Boat

There are many types of boats in the market today and each has their advantages and disadvantages. However, when it comes to the bass fishing tracker boat it is hard to find fault with it. Tracker boats today come in two popular models (modV and deepV) with sizes ranging from 16-18 ft. The latest of these boats have a special made .1005052 marine alloy hull, aluminum gunnels; can support a 115 Elpto and a stunning price of only $20,000.

Good Resale Value

These boats sell so well that very often the dealers will have them rigged and ready in the lot itself to save time. Since these boats have been accorded a national value price, resale of these boats is nothing of the mess it usually is when boats are sold. You can sell them anywhere you want, you will still get a good price for it, though I am yet to see a man who can willingly part from a tracker once he owns one.

You’re Dreaming of a Bass Fishing Vacation

Posted on 26 July 2009 by admin

So you love to go fishing and now you want to take a bass fishing vacation. Good for you but did you investigate your vacation or did you just wake up one day and decide that’s what you want to do for the weekend. If you just woke up one day and decided, then you should be warned that a bass fishing vacation is not for everyone especially if your wife doesn’t like to fish.

Vacation Packages

There are as many bass fishing vacation packages out there as there are species of fish, picking the right one all depends on what you are looking for. The first question that you want to ask yourself is where you want to go, Alabama, Arizona, Main, New York, North Carolina. Then you have to ask yourself how long do you want to be gone, maybe it’s just for a weekend or as long as a few weeks. Once you figured that out then you have to ask yourself how much money you want to spend.

You can spend anywhere from $78.00 to $300.00 dollars a night. It all depends on the accommodations and amenities, whether or not if you want to stay in a tent or a full service resort all depends on you. I would suggest a full service resort if you are taking a non-fishing better half. The advantage of using a bass fishing vacation packages is that the travel agent will do all the foot work for you but it comes at a price.

Doing it Yourself

You can save a bundle of money if you plan a bass fishing vacation on your own. It’s not a difficult task to perform, it just takes time. Again decide on where you want to go then decide on how much you want to spend.

Where you save money is that you are doing the foot work so you’re not paying a commission plus you don’t have to compromise anything that a bass fishing vacation package may or may not offer. This is the ideal way if you plan on staying in your home state.

If you are planning to go out of state then I would recommend that you use a bass fishing vacation package for a couple of different reasons. The first reason is the license will be included in your trip package and the second reason is that most of the packages will offer a fishing guide so you can get the most for your buck.

The Vacation of a Lifetime: A Bass Fishing Trip

Posted on 24 July 2009 by admin

We’ve all seen the headlines: “bass fishing trip saves marriage” or “bass fishing saves kittens”, but until recently there was no real cause to believe it besides the idealism of anglers that wanted their sport to take over the world. As it would turn out, though, a bass fishing trip could save your marriage and bass fishing certainly saves kittens as well because if you’re out there fishing, the kittens are safe!

This might seem absurd at first, but a bass fishing trip really can make a great deal of a difference in the lives of people. Sitting and relaxing out on the water while fishing is a life-altering experience for many and changes the perspectives and ideas of millions each year. Once you go bass, it is said, you never go back. There is something revealing about it all as you let the cool water breeze drift over you and take it all in until that last moment of peace is shattered by the screams of a bass on the fishing line.

Then your peace gives way to excitement, and rightfully so. You are here for action, and there is no greater action in the world than the battle and the struggle between a man and the fish on his fishing line. Without this struggle, a bass fishing trip would be meaningless and frankly, life would be meaningless to many of us. For many, taking a fishing trip is not just another weekend away; it is a rite of passage and a religious experience.

Freedom

The feeling of freedom one can get from being out on the water with just a pole and a line separating you from man’s greatest wonder (the bass) is overwhelming and many an angler has vowed to never leave the lake and never leave behind the sport that keeps the fire in their blood from burning out. Separating an angler from his lake is like separating a mother from her child: painful, unnecessary, and a great deal of trouble.

Many people take trips to Mexico or Florida or other exotic destinations to get away from it all, but those places are useless to an angler if they cannot find a place to put a boat into water and find some bass to catch. The finest hotels are nothing in comparison to a tent in the woods for the fishermen of this world, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Finding peace is a goal for many and many an angler has found peace the likes of which we may never find in our own lives. We have a lot to learn about bass fishing and life from the story of the angler and taking a great bass fishing trip is a good start.

Using The Right Bass Fishing Equipment

Posted on 22 July 2009 by admin

One of the most important things in the world of bass fishing equipment is being properly prepared and having the “right” equipment for catching some of the biggest fish you’ve ever come across. Bass fishing equipment is a finicky business but a very rewarding one as it can prove very helpful to have the proper rods and reels when you’re out on the lake searching for that huge catch to help bring home the trophy.

The rods and reels are the most expensive and most important pieces of your arsenal. Making sure that your rods and reels are properly maintained is as important as buying the most expensive and reliable brands because without proper maintenance even the best reel can prove to be faulty when it comes down to the raging battle between the fish and your line. You wouldn’t want to lose that battle because you neglected proper reel and rod maintenance.

Bass fishing equipment sometimes can get down to specifics that often throw off the novice fisherman. However, knowing some of the specifics and telling points of equipment checking can help save a lot of trouble in the long run. Line guides should be checked with a “Q-tip” to insure that the holes fit your line properly and won’t tear it in half when you’re reeling in a big one.

Check the rod itself, especially if you are using a two or three part rod. Any line cracks should be investigated and dealt with properly by yourself or your bait and tackle store. This is usually fairly inexpensive and certainly a whole lot less expensive than purchasing an entirely new rod.

Changing your Line

If you fish every weekend, you should probably change your line every three months because of the stress put on it. If you are a competitive tournament fisherman, however, you should change it more often; sometimes every week. Once again, err on the side of caution with your line; anything is better than losing a fish because you didn’t check a line properly for breaks or tears. This type of checking up on your bass fishing equipment is integral to any success you want to have as an angler.

Finally, make sure you bring along proper clothing and attire. You could find yourself in some pretty intense battles with some fish and this could require you to spend a lot of time outdoors without shelter. Make sure you have the right jackets and pants for the right seasons. Inspect your fishing gear for other problems and then hit the lake for an exciting afternoon of bass fishing, friendship, and adventure!
