i love the largemouth bass, but ive recently gotten into a flathead catfish craze. as soon as you set the hook, its all muscle, which is surprising from a fish that uses ambush as its primary technique for catching prey. they get big too, 10 pounds is average, 40 pounds is a great one, but they get 70-80 pounds in some rivers and lakes. i also like how you dont have to deal with dead fish or commercial catfish baits, flatheads respond the bass to a live shad or bluegill.
Carp.
I have caught many different species of freshwater fish largemouth, spotted bass, smallmouth, catfish, bluegill, sunfish, trout, carp. I find that carp, even though people say they are ‘a nasty little creature who makes the water muddy” are the toughest fighting fish around. It takes patience to catch them, so i always take snacks and drinks. You may go 2 hours without a bite, but it’s worth the wait!
i agree with the first answer carp are the best fish to catch or i’ll have to take rock bass (redeye) where theres one there are bout 20 more to catch thats if u like to catch fish by the numbers look for alot of rocks
freshwater- largemouth bass, they are fun to catch because they fight hard
saltwater- well bluefish fight pretty hard and its exciting but i would say i liek to catch striped bass

Halibut, nothing quite like reeling in a barn door and having a 200 +lb halibut battling you on a rod, Coho salmon and steel head would be next.
