My bass fishing team is going to a friend’s farm that has like 4 lakes on it. We will be in boats and i am kind of new to to the game. I have a brand new citica 200e reel with a graphite medium 7-foot pole i will be using. If you could please tell me the best baites to use for bass.

This time of year in Peoria,Illinois? Is the ice even thawed? I live in Springfield,illinois and there is still ice on lake springfield witch is a 4000 acre lake, so if you are fishing smaller lakes there is a chance that the are still frozen. For this time of year around here i like to use a jig and pig setup fished very slowly.

A bass’ favorite food above all others is the crayfish,if it is present in that body of water,so anything you can imitate this with will work,black or greenpumkinseed jig and pig would be my choice #1,white spinnerbait#2 Tubejig#Rapala shadrap#4,Senko worm#5 you match color w/ water clarity.

i cant give you a very good answer about that, but i live in the great lakes region, and their are alot of round goby in there, so i use soft goby, frogs seem to work very well too

I would bring a long lots of soft-plastics, some crankbaits, and some spinnerbaits. Those are the 3 main baits, they should work anywhere.

My first choice would be a 6″ plastic lizard pumpkin seed rigged texas style, Then I would choose a 1/4oz. chart./white spinnerbait, then a fat free shad in a shad pattern
